Abstract

Sheikh Mohammed Ali bin Hussein al-Maliki, one of the Scholars of the Islamic Maghreb. He is Libyan but was born in Macca. He is one of the senior travelers who have arrived to Malaysia and Indonesia many decades ago. He did the mission he came for successfully. His mission had targeted basically for introducing a new reform in teaching methods, propagating science, advocacy and other religious general reform. Those who are interested in having deeper knowledge about the efforts of Libyan scientists can get their desire fully satisfied about the knowledge of Mohammed Ali bin Hussein al-Maliki and discover his advocacy and reform works in Malaysia only after a great effort. Therefore, this research seeks to provide a comprehensive and background definition of Sheikh Mohammed al-Maliki and his efforts in the dissemination of science. The purpose of this article is to introduce the Shaykh, to demonstrate his advocacy and reform efforts, to spread knowledge in Indonesia and Melayu, to benefit from his advocacy and reform work and analyze the results of his mission in order to link them to our present reality. The article concludes that Sheikh Muhammad Ali al-Maliki did the mission that he came for with all effectiveness and efficiently, and sat down to spread the knowledge and advocacy and the dissemination of the Arabic language using wisdom and Troy. He was the place of interested of the scientists who was interested about him. His teaching and debating lessons were always crowded by students of science.
