Abstract

According to the realist’s theory, power is a center in international Relations. No state will exist without possessing enough ability to defend itself against likelihood aggression. The power of a state is a combination of hard and soft power. Majority of countries engaged in the foreign aid process, as donors or recipients in one or the other. Hence, aid is meant to pursue foreign policy objectives, it entails states to get others to want what they [states] want. Soft power becomes manifest in international institutions; listening to others, in foreign policy; promoting peace and human rights. An advocate of multilateralism contended that sustaining American power as dependent upon strategic restraint, reassuring partners and facilitating cooperation, and not just because of unmatched American hard power. The US was known to have adopted soft power strategy in her policies around the world for decades; a method that explored through aid and attractive incentives to achieve her objectives. Muslim nations are no exception; countries like Egypt, Jordan and Pakistan have benefited much from U.S. aid and assistance, while in return U.S. found her foreign objectives through. However, the current event of vote against U.S. interest in the Security Council is likely open a new page of relations. The research aims at investigating the future of U.S. aid to the aforementioned countries in the aftermath of the U.S. recognition of Jerusalem as capital of Israel and her subsequent declaration of U.S. embassy shift. Which led to total condemnation and subsequent United Nations General Assembly voting results? The research is descriptive and analytical in nature. As a result, several materials form the current events will be relied upon throughout the completion of this research.
