Abstract

Auto Takaful is a motor vehicle insurance policy that provides protection to the riders in the event of accidents on the roads in accordance with Islamic law. According to Road Traffic Act 1988, the protection to the third party is compulsory. Currently, the number of vehicles on the road increases rapidly which is directly proportional to the risk of road accidents. In some cases, the accidents may cause injuries and fatalities to both drivers as well as passengers. However, many vehicle users still do not have protection upon themselves because insurance payments are expensive. Due to this issue, this paper proposed a new modification model for vehicle users that combine Auto Takaful with personal accident plan and determine the acceptances of vehicle users toward the integrated modification model of Auto Takaful. The sample size for the cross-sectional study is 385 which were calculated by using single proportion technique through simple random sampling in Terengganu. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) is used to test the hypothesis of this study by using SPSS AMOS software.
