Abstract

This study summarizes the Attention of scholars of Tihama in the service of Islamic sciences, including Tafseer (interpretation) and knowing the most famous scholars of Tafseer (interpretation) and their interpretive product. The study targeted to highlight on knowing the beginning of Tafser in Tihamah and the most of famous scholars, and their books about Tafser. The researcher used historical and analysis methods to reach the following results: Established Tafseer (Interpretation) in Tihama since founding Islam through Abo Musa Al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased on him), the interpretive movement has been active since the seventh century up until the thirteenth century AH, therefore the researcher recommends the establishment of an institution to preserve the heritage of Tihama and achieve and publish. The interpretation output was small and only reached the required level, the lack of attention of institutions, bodies of negligent heritage and neglect, which led to the loss of much of it.
