Abstract

Due to the fact that few people know about the value of the river and its importance, river cleanliness is often neglected and contaminated thereby affecting its interests and benefits to the public. Therefore, this study aimed to identify the level of respondent behavior in river conservation activities. The research design selected in this study is a quantitative research. The approach of this research is the survey through a questionnaire. The study was conducted at polluted rivers in Terengganu. The sample of this study consists of 373 respondents. Descriptive analysis that involves percentage, mean and standard deviation were used to analyze the level of behavior. The result shows that the respondents’ behavior of river conservation is at a low level. In conclusion, active involvement in river conservation activities is crucial to reducing river pollution issues. The study is expected to raise awareness and change people's behavior in addressing issues of environmental degradation especially for sustainable, healthy rivers and better quality of life.
