Abstract

The issue of the woman’s participation in the political action until today has become one of the most controversial issues on the jurisprudential level and even on the theoretical social level, taking into consideration that the woman is one of the basic pivots in the process of social change and comprehensive development. Some have tried to depriv the woman of her rights and to keep her in a stage without the Lord’s honoring of her, which was bestowed upon her by Almighty God. Also others have tried to uproot the Muslim woman from her Lord’s method out of going with the Western woman. So this research came to contribute in drawing a road according to which is completed the of building of a sound and healthy society which attains the most sublime degrees of perfection with the participation of the woman in the political action under the modern needs . In order to reform the nation we need a new vision which suits our reality. This cannot be done unless we go beyond the narrow concept of the woman’s participation in the political action to the comprehensive concept. The research aims to indicate the position of Islam vis-à-vis the role of the woman in the political action in the light of the Holy Quran and the impediments of the effective political participation of the Muslim woman in our present age. The researcher has used the descriptive methodology and the historical methodology in her study. Among the most important results which were reached are that the Islamic religion honored the Muslim woman and elevated her status and emphasized her rights, and that the origin in Islam is the equality between the man and the woman , so there is neither distinction between the man and the woman and nor difference between the two of them whether this is in the origin of their creation or the religious law obligations. It is inevitable to empower the woman through her active participation in the different domains specially the political domains, without a conflict with her main role of taking care of the family and raising the generations within the religious law controls which were emphasized by the Holy Quran.
