Abstract

-Online business becomes a very popular trending in Malaysia especially in selling goods and services. Clothing and personal accessories are among the many types of businesses which are commonly carried up via Internet. Some online businesses’ owners embark on this business for a short period of time while some others rely totally on this medium in marketing their products and services. Nevertheless, there are online users who misused this medium by committing unlawful activities such as internet fraud, internet scams and misuse of confidential information. This research intends to list down all the existing ecommerce laws in Malaysia and highlight major legal issues which may arise from online businesses and how these issues are regulated in order to ensure the parties involved are protected. The research would also examine whether the regulations are in line with Islamic perspective in Malaysia.
