Abstract
Many pervious studies have solely focused on investigating the determinants of non-performing loans (NPLs) for conventional banks and its implications toward banking industry without any comparison with Islamic banks. This study intends to identify the factors that contribute to nonperforming loans and hence to find out its implications towards banking industry. It aimed to model non-performing loans in a few Asian countries and later do a comparison across the model.
